In this episode of 'A Prisoner's Pardon Podcast', host
Michi J. chats with Dori Maloney on why prison reforms are needed behind the
walls and the importance of supporting inmates in their course of reformation.
Dori is an ex-guard who shares her observations about the prison system and
explores how reforms can be implemented to assist inmates in becoming better
people in society. Dori explores rehabilitation programs, and education and how
they help inmates transition in society after serving their time. A good start
for prison reforms is educating inmates and introducing them to spirituality in
order to improve their relationship with God.

E51 - The Turkey Pardon - How Pardoning Connects to Gratitude

A Thanksgiving Pardon: The Story of Thanksgiving and the Act of Forgiveness
In this episode of 'A Prisoner's Pardon Podcast', host Michi J. discusses the tradition of Thanksgiving and its symbolic relevance to forgiveness and gratitude. The discussion covers the origin of the holiday, starting with the turkey pardoning tradition initiated by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, coinciding with the year of the Emancipation Proclamation. Michi J. encourages listeners to use Thanksgiving as a platform for forgiveness, seeing this act as a symbolic pardon akin to the pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkey. Emphasizing gratefulness beyond the holiday, the host suggests Thanksgiving should be a constant state of mind, inviting people to appreciate what they already have and find peace in it.

E50 - Police Cadets: Active Participants in their Community - Jeremiah Lewis

Do you know any police officers personally? What about a police cadet? Today's show features one of the best police cadets in the City of Milwaukee. His name is Jeremiah Lewis. This young man, in my estimation, has the potential to become chief. Why do I say that? I do because I've seen his passion for his family, his job and his community. He is the kind of officer that builds trust with people easily. I've watched him for a while. He is for real and believe me he is a treasure. Jeremiah is very active involved in the community and he's doing it way more than what's required of him. Today you will learn what police cadets have to do for training and you will hear how some work with ex-felons to understand the community and to establish relationships.

    Show Highlights:
    · Why did he become a police officer?
